The good press about Dean Street continues and we couldn’t be happier! On Thursday, Brooklyn Exposed published an excellent article about new chefs at Brooklyn restaurants, which included a section on Dean Street and our new Executive Chef Simon Glenn. Titled Out with the Old, in with the New Chef, it provides a nice overview of Chef Glenn and the tasty changes he has brought to our menu:
Chef Simon Glenn didn’t replace a chef per se when he came to Dean Street. The talented team of cooks was headed up by a kitchen manager and is now under his direction. Chef Glenn runs a very successful pop-up restaurant in Brooklyn called Tchoup Shop specializing in southern American regional cuisine. After renting him prep space in the Dean Street kitchen, co-owners John Longo and Rob Gelardi decided to bring Glenn onboard with the hopes of him making an impact on the Dean Street menu. “The results have been staggering,” says Longo. “We have been on Tasting Table’s Short List and recently added to The Scoop, sponsored by The New York Times.”
Chef Glenn has brought a little bit of the Big Easy to Brooklyn with New Orleans-inspired dishes like a Shrimp Po’Boy Sandwich, Cornmeal Crusted Catfish, Shrimp and Grits, and Brisket Duck Boudin Balls with Creole Mustard.
If you’re in the Prospect Heights neighborhood, come check out these amazing dishes for yourself. In addition to our new menu, Dean Street also has a full bar that offers a wide array of cocktails, beers on tap, and wine. Come in for a drink and a snack or a full meal. We’ll be happy to see you!
We are also currently running a promotion for those attending events at Barclays Center. Bring in your ticket stub and we’ll give you a free drink! Dean Street restaurant is conveniently located nearby Barclays Center, so next time you attend a concert or BK Nets game there, swing by before or after the game for some delicious food and drink.
