Join us as we warmly welcome George Packer tonight (Thurs, 6/13 at 7pm) to discuss his New York Times bestseller, “The Unwinding: An Inner History of the New America.“
The Unwinding journeys through the lives of several Americans, interweaving these intimate stories with biographical sketches of the era’s leading public figures, from Newt Gingrich to Jay-Z, and collages made from newspaper headlines, advertising slogans, and song lyrics that capture the flow of events and their undercurrents.
Brave the rainy skies and please join us for this Book Release and Happy Hour beginning at 7pm. All book proceeds benefit The Brooklyn New School.
See you tonight!
The Guinness Book of World Records says that Paul McCartney is “the most successful composer and recording artist of all time”. Unfortunately, they fail to recognize Dean Street as “the most successful bar and restaurant in Prospect Heights of all time”, but we are sure this is just because they haven’t heard of us yet. No matter! Come out and eat with us on Saturday, then catch Sir Paul as he plays his first ever show at Barclays Center. Bars right around the arena will probably be packed, but we are just far enough away to avoid the rush, yet close enough that getting to the show is just an easy 5-10 minute walk.

Not in the mood for dinner? Come for the drinks! If you have a valid ticket to the show, we will give you a free one. Best of all, happy hour runs from five to eight, which means great prices on everything from the bar. We are pretty sure that its one of the longest happy hours in Brooklyn, and it ends right when the concert is supposed to start. We couldn’t have timed it better if we tried.
The National is coming home to Brooklyn on June 5th.These guys have been a major force in the indie scene for over a decade. They don’t play New York too often, so this should be a great show. Great shows call for great food and drink, so come out to Dean Street and enjoy yourself a little.

You won’t find a better bar or restaurant close to Barclays Center, especially considering our wonderful happy hour specials, including $4 drafts and call drinks. Best of all, our happy hour is actually three hours long and ends at 8 PM, just when the show is supposed to start. Combined with our proximity to Barclays, this means you can enjoy cheap drinks at one of the top restaurants in Prospect Heights and a great concert without having to walk more than a few minutes.
On top of it all, we will be giving a free drink to anyone with a ticket to the show.
See you then!
Dean Street will now be serving lunch until 5pm Monday through Friday – a two hour extension! We hope to accommodate moms, dads and teachers that get off earlier than most in the neighborhood, as well as those aspiring writers and workers-from-home that seem to be increasing at an astonishing rate! We will serve our full lunch menu until 5pm and then switch over to the dinner menu. Once five o’clock hits, it’s Happy Hour in the bar room where you can enjoy draft beers and brand name liquors for only $4 and Blue Point Oysters for only a buck until 8pm. Enjoy!
Got plans for Saturday? The Killers are going to be playing Barclays Center and we’re going to be having a really good time right next door. The show starts at 8 p.m. and tickets are still available here.

If you are coming to the show, check out one of the best happy hours in Brooklyn on your way. From 5 to 8 we will be serving up $4 drafts and cocktails, making Dean Street the prime spot for a Barclays Center pregame. Even better, we are just a quick 5-10 minute walk from the venue. Why drink at a bar in Barclays Center when there is a place with better prices, friendlier people and better food just minutes away?
If you need more incentive, we will be offering a free drink to anyone with a ticket to the show. This deal will be valid before or after the concert, so use it during happy hour or stop by and spend a bit of your late night in prospect heights.

Mother’s Day is always special at Dean Street and this year is no exception! All moms, grandmas and especially great-grandmas will receive a complimentary mimosa with their brunch this Sunday, May 12th. We are going to open one hour early (10AM) for this special day, so make your reservations as early as possible! Chef Simon Glenn is going to have some extra special specials on the board that he thinks moms and non-moms alike will devour! See you soon!
Today and tomorrow, some of the best amatuer boxers in New York will square off at Barclays Center. This will be the 86th New York Golden Gloves, and the first in the new, state-of-the-art Barclays Center.

If you are planning on coming to see some bouts, consider stopping by Dean Street while you are in the area. There are many Barclays Center bars, but we are only located a quick 5-10 minute walk away, plus we have some of the best food in the neighborhood. Not only are we one of the best restaurants near Barclays Center, but we will also be offering a free drink to anyone who shows up with a valid ticket to the day’s action. Also, don’t forget that we offer one of the best happy hours in Brooklyn with $4 drafts and call drinks.
So come by early or late and take advantage of our hospitality, because the next best thing to watching boxers take shots at each other is taking shots yourself.
Tomorrow, the Nets will play the Pistons in what will be the final regular season game for both teams. The Nets exceed everyone’s expectations in their historic first season in Brooklyn, and should be a force in the playoffs.

No one is more excited about the Net’s playoff hopes than we are, so come in before the game and be excited with us. Get some food, or if you aren’t hungry, just enjoy our excellent happy hour that will run from 5 p.m. until tip off. We will be offering a free beverage to anyone with a ticket, so come on in and take advantage before the game at Barclays.
Our restaurant is near the venue, so you can take an easy 5-10 minute walk to Barclays pregame and not have to worry about missing the tip at 8:00.
Barclays and the Nets have been a wonderful addition to Prospect Heights and we look forward to this postseason and many more to come.
